# Chicago Requests Bulk downloader for 311 Requests from the Chicago Open311 API. ## To install: ```console > pip install chicagorequests ``` ## To use ### Today's Requests To download today's requests, run: ```console > chicagorequests ``` The program will output the requests as line-delimited json. To turn this into a standard json file, you can use a program like `jq`. ```console > chicagorequests | jq -s '.' ``` ### Date Range Request To download all requests within a time span: ```console > chicagorequests --start-date=2021-01-01 --end-date=2021-01-14 ``` ### Limit to specific request types To download grafitti removal requests made today: ```console > chicagorequests -t graffiti_removal ``` You can specify more than one type of request ```console > chicagorequests -t graffiti_removal -t pothole ``` ### To get help ```console > chicagorequests --help Usage: chicagorequests [OPTIONS] Download service requests from the Chicago Open311 API. By default, today's requests of all types. Will write service requests as line-delimited JSON to stdout.
